Not Getting Clients? Here’s Why
(This week’s question from my blog comes from Barbara M.)
I’m really struggling in my business. I’m not getting clients and all the conversations I do have, people either ignore me, blow me off, or if I’m lucky enough to get them on the phone, they give me an excuse and don’t buy. I know I need help, but I don’t have the money to hire someone. I’m at my wits end trying to figure out what I’m doing wrong. I don’t know if I should close the business or not. Can you offer any direction?
Thanks, Barbara M.
Thanks so much for reaching out!
First thing…. Take a deep breath.
Now, let’s get to your specific questions and what you can do differently to change your results immediately…
There are two things you need to look at when your results aren’t going the way you want them to.
1) Your Energy – The Universe is like a mirror. It gives us a reflection of who we are being.
So for example, look at the client YOU are being.
Are you resisting help?
Are you subconsciously repelling clients because deep down your feel undeserving?
To attract the clients you want, you have to BECOME that client. Otherwise, how will you know how to serve them best?
2) Your Skills – be honest with yourself here. Do you need to up your sales skills? Do you feel sleazy about selling or do you feel at peace and embrace the beauty in the sales process? If you have resistance towards sales, then you’re not understanding what sales is.
Sales is a process that helps others get what they want. It’s a conversation that influences the other person to do something for them.
That said, there is skill involved. Are you asking the right questions? Are you helping them overcome those objections (excuses) they are giving you?
The first thing I would recommend is to learn the skill of selling and then the disconnect in your energy will pop up.
Remember, you’re always only ONE decision away from a different result.
